Lose To Win

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?(Matthew 16:25-26, KJV)

We as believers of Jesus Christ are called to deny ourselves and to take up our cross and walk. As we trade our sins with Jesus for righteousness and justification, we practice denying ourselves on a daily basis. We will experience a realization of newness from within. Once we realize the newest from within, we must maintain it and be faithful for the rest of our lives.

The Gift of Will

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. (Deuteronomy 30:19-20, KJV)

Since the beginning of time, God has given us a gift to make our own choices. This gift from God of making our own choices started with Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve was giving a commandment and was provided with abundant life. Out of the abundance of God’s provision there is life, but God made only one thing that could bring forth death. That one thing was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in which God commanded not to eat the fruit thereof. While we are in these days and times under the dispensation of God’s grace through His Son Jesus Christ, let us take advantage of God’s goodness and abundance of provision to repent and to make the right choice for the glory God.

Hold Fast To That Which Is Good

As believers today, we must learn to hold fast to that which is good so that we can prove that which is good, acceptable, and perfect will of God which is our reasonable service unto the Lord. We should say that we are unprofitable servants because we have done only what was required of us, but we cannot even say that because we are not doing what the Lord has called us to do; that is to be holy as He is holy. Perfecting holiness is a daily service unto the Lord as we present our bodies and lives unto Him on a daily basis. Holding fast to that which is good means to live by what you believe in. As of toady, hypocrisy is rampant in the Body of Christ. This is an urgent call for us to repent. While we still have a chance to repent now, we must submit to God’s discipline as of today to prevent experiencing eternal judgment on the opposite of what is righteous before the Lord.
