Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:12,13, KJV)
Apostle Paul wrote to the Church at Philippi instructing them to make sure that they work out their own salvation by way of their own heart and personal relationship with God just as they were obedience in what was taught and established in them when he was presence with them.
We as believers should do the same thing and submit ourselves whole heartedly unto The Lord when He works in us after we have learned in part the things of God. When we know better, we do better. Paul have spoken by way of scripture saying, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.” (Hebrews 6:1-3, KJV)
By God’s discretion and will, we can go on to perfection in this life and in the one to come. We have to strive for it. Therefore, keep working it out.
