In the beginning, the Lord God made everything and gave man (Adam and Eve) dominion. Eve was tempted by a serpent in which the scriptures call him that Old Serpent which is Satan.
And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:8-9, 15-17 KJV)
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26-28 KJV)
(Carefully read the scriptures from verses 26-28 of Genesis chapter one that is just above this paragraph. Eve had just as much dominion as Adman as a female made from man that God created. Part of God’s discipline upon mankind was that the woman should be for her husband. A man is head over his wife. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. (Genesis 3:16 KJV) Adam and Eve were equally perfected before God disciplined them with a standard that will be over all mankind throughout all generations, but at the end of all things, God will restore and make all things new.)
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3:4-5 KJV) At that time, God has already set everything in motion for His plan and purpose. Notice in verse 9 of Genesis chapter 2 that God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight including the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. (Genesis 3:6-7 KJV)
Just because something is attractive does not mean for us to rebel against God. One way to rebel against God is to yield to uncontrollable lust which means to covet. We must yield to the fruit of the Holy Spirit of self-control so that God will be gloried. Attractiveness should not be a dominating factor for what we do for the Lord. Adam and Eve strayed away from the dominance that God has given them to live by for His glory and not for the glory of man.
