Myth Busters: Seeking Sound Doctrine

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. (1 Timothy 4:1 KJV)

Myth Busters is a show about proving whether or not certain theories are true. The way the hosts prove whether or not a theory is true is by testing the theory. This also applies to believers that are exposed to other doctrines that they are not familiar with, but we must test unfamiliar doctrines with the Word of God. When we test such doctrines that we are not familiar with and find such doctrines not to be true according to God’s Word, we should be like myth busters to destroy the works of the devil through proclaiming the Word of God. The key is to stick with what you know, in other words, stick to the script. Do not turn to the right nor to the left, but stay on the straight and narrow way that leads to eternal life. But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine. (Titus 2:1 KJV)

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. (Titus 1:9 KJV) Not only will we be able to keep ourselves in hope, but we will be able to tell the truth that will convince others who are not aware. When we are converted, we must go and strengthen our brothers and sisters that are in Jesus Christ even has Jesus told Peter. The statement that Jesus made to Peter is in reference to having a renewed mind. We must share that same truth that we have experienced and learned from to convince others that are not aware of certain truths that will keep them in line with God’s will and God’s way.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Tim 4:3-4 KJV) Rebellion against the Truth can cause us to fall away from the faith that we were founded upon in which God has established in His Son, Jesus Christ. We do not want to end up being like the ones that will fall away from the faith that is of Jesus Christ. There will be a falling away from the faith before the Day of Jesus Christ. We all must make sure that we stay in the boat until our Rest comes.
