The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19 KJV)
The Gospel is the good news. The purpose and will of God for all believers is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the whole world. Not every single believer is called to preach the Gospel throughout the world, but corporately as a body of Christ we are to play our part in getting the gospel message throughout the world. The end will not come until the gospel of the kingdom is preached in every nation. (Matthew 24:14)
The Gospel starts and ends with Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, the gospel is proclaimed throughout the scriptures. Since the beginning of time, the gospel had been proclaimed in a mystery until now. When the fullest of time have came, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ on the earth to fulfill and reveal what has been proclaimed since the beginning. As partakers of God’s holy calling, we should be about our Father’s business in fulfilling God’s eternal plan and purpose for the earth.
