The Gospel

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (Isaiah 61:1-3 KJV)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19 KJV)

The Gospel
is the good news. The purpose and will of God for all believers is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the whole world. Not every single believer is called to preach the Gospel throughout the world, but corporately as a body of Christ we are to play our part in getting the gospel message throughout the world. The end will not come until the gospel of the kingdom is preached in every nation. (Matthew 24:14)

The Gospel
starts and ends with Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, the gospel is proclaimed throughout the scriptures. Since the beginning of time, the gospel had been proclaimed in a mystery until now. When the fullest of time have came, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ on the earth to fulfill and reveal what has been proclaimed since the beginning. As partakers of God’s holy calling, we should be about our Father’s business in fulfilling God’s eternal plan and purpose for the earth.
